Kanakuk Institute makes return to Ruston
Students from the Kanakuk Institute in Branson, Missouri, were recently in Lincoln Parish to continue their studies while providing community service within the Ruston community. The group was previously here two years ago and helped with the cleanup following the F-3 tornado that ripped through the area. While staying at MedCamps this year, the group engaged in service throughout the facility as well as in unique spaces throughout the local area.
To celebrate their accomplishments, local volunteer Bill Cox spent an evening delighting the young people with his unique brand of magic, slight-of-hand and entertaining storytelling. Ruston has sent many students to the Kanakuk Institute, “a place for young men and women to intensively study the Word of God and experience life-change through biblical community and the power of the gospel while learning applicable essentials of seminary in order to live a Christ-exalting life in any occupation,” according to its website.
