Members of the Lincoln Parish legislative delegation gathered at the Lincoln Parish Museum Thursday to celebrate the parish’s 150th birthday with the purchase of commemorative sesquicentennial coins. Proceeds from the sale of the coins will fund replacing several historical markers around the parish that are missing. From left are Rep. Chris Turner; Sen. Jay Luneau; Sen. Jay Morris; Sen. Stewart Cathey; Robert Hendrick, descendant of Milton Kidd, who built the house museum in 1886; and museum Director Rick Godley. The two-sided coin features the sesquicentennial logo on one side with a black-and-gold color scheme to represent Grambling State University, and an outline of Louisiana on the other with a star making the parish’s location and the words “Remembering the Past, Looking to the Future.” That side of the coin is red and blue to represent Louisiana Tech University.
