The Lincoln Parish Library is celebrating Black History Month this February by housing several displays of artwork, books, memorabilia and even postage stamps, all either created by African Americans or depicting key figures and moments in Black history.
The art pieces shown at top are part of “Inner Visions,” an exhibit featuring the works of six students from Grambling State University’s Art Department, under the direction of Department Head Rodrecas Davis. The exhibit will be displayed in the library lobby through the month of February.
Pictured second is a painting by GSU student Destiny Tuesno. Pictured at bottom are some of the books by Black authors on display in the library lobby, resting under a monitor showing a lineup of famous figures in Black history.
