Low income energy assistance funds available to public
Humanitarian Enterprises of Lincoln Parish (H.E.L.P.) is currently scheduling appointments for assistance with heating bills, until March 11, through its LIHEAP program.
H.E.L.P. is also scheduling appointments for assistance with past due bills, large balance bills and disconnect bills, for both electric and gas accounts with our ARP program.
Appointments will be scheduled on a firstcome, first-served basis until all appointment times are filled or funds are depleted. Interested persons may schedule an appointment by phone at (318) 251-5136 or in person at 307 N. Homer Street, Second Floor in Ruston each Friday only beginning at 8 a.m. until all appointment times are filled.
Each Monday will be designated for elderly and/or disabled applicants only. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Applicants must present current utility bills (both electric and gas if applies), proof of total monthly household income, social security cards for all household members and proof of ID.
Income guidelines are as follows:
• Annual Income Based on 60% of Estimate State Median Income are as follows: for family size of one: $2,126; two: $2,780; three: $3,435; four: $4,089; five: $4,743; six: $5,397; seven: $5,520; eight: $5,643; nine: $5,765; ten: $5,888.
