Parish COVID death count up by one
The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed an additional Lincoln Parish death from COVID-19. The toll now stands at 86 parish residents confirmed dead from the virus since the count began in March of 2020.
LDH updated the confirmed death count on Tuesday. The additional death was the first new verified COVID death since April 14.
LDH continues to list another seven local deaths as probably caused by COVID-19. That number had not changed in months.
As of Wednesday, Lincoln Parish had a cumulative total of 3,385 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since March of 2020, according to the LDH website.
Meantime, LDH shows 26% of eligible Lincoln Parish residents age 16 and over are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. That’s exactly the same percentage of total Americans fully vaccinated, according to figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Of the Lincoln Parish residents who have taken the two-shot Pfizer or Moderna vaccinations or the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine, 57% are women.
