Parish records another COVID-19 death
At least one more person has died of COVID-19 in Lincoln Parish.
Updated numbers released at noon Tuesday by the Louisiana Department of Health show 14 residents have died from the illness caused by the novel coronavirus. The report also shows 122 known cases of COVID-19 in the parish.
That’s up one case from Monday’s report.
Though the number of local confirmed cases continues to go up, the climb so far in May has not be as rapid as it was over a similar time period in April.
Meantime, the number of tests done on parish residents has almost doubled since May 1. As of Tuesday, 1,286 tests had been performed. The total includes not only first-time tests but also any repeated tests on COVID-19 patients throughout their illness.
Testing is expected to continue to increase statewide as one of the requirements for reopening the economy.
