The antique car show will return as just one of many attractions at the fourth annual Lincoln Parish Park Fest on Sept. 28.

Community members have another chance to support the Lincoln Parish Park and have a fun day outdoors as the fourth annual Park Fest comes to town on Sept. 28.

Beginning as a grassroots project idea by a handful of parish officials and other supporters of the park, the Park Fest is now an expected fixture in the community’s fall schedule and continues to be a key fundraiser for what many locals have called a “hidden jewel” of the parish.

“Everything that we raise is for the Lincoln Parish Park,” police juror and head organizer Annette Straughter said at a recent jury meeting. “So come out, enjoy, and have fun with us at the park that day.”

Park Fest returns Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m at the park, 211 Parish Park Road. Entry is $10 per car.

Returning features for this year’s Park Fest including an antique car show, craft and artisan vendors, a food truck alley, live music and entertainment throughout the day, and an assortment of vintage campers on display.

The park is also adding two new events: a trail run at 8 a.m. and a Mini Enduro mountain biking competition.

The park can now leverage its new downhill flow trails and waterfall hub structure to hold competitions that coincide with events like Park Fest.

“That’ll hopefully bring in some people from outside the community,” Park Director James Ramsaur said.

The Mini Enduro will utilize all five flow trails to test cyclists’ — you guessed it — endurance, as each participant will be timed on all five trails one at a time throughout the day, starting at 9 a.m. This will leave time for participants to engage with the rest of the Park Fest between trail runs.

Entry for the competition is $20 for junior class competitions and $40 for adults. Must have the skillset to ride all five trails.

There will also be a raffle giveaway of a 4-gallon Cajun fish cooker, with $10 tickets available on site.
