Ruston man charged with prostitution

A 62-year-old Ruston man is charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, prostitution, and enticing persons into prostitution, all stemming from what police say was an incident apparently involving a 15-year-old girl.

Ruston city police arrested John Freeman on Friday morning at his home on Courtney Avenue. The incident appears to have happened earlier this summer, Ruston Police Chief Steve Rogers said.

He said a report was made to RPD in mid-August after the victim reportedly told her mother what happened.

Freeman was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on $435,000 bond.
