The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Terrion S. Atkins, Jr., for second degree murder stemming from gun violence over the weekend.

The first shooting took place following Jonesboro-Hodge High School’s homecoming game against Red River Friday night. Some time after the game, a shooting occurred at the Circle K store in Jonesboro, where 27-year-old Bre’Untae Hicks was the victim.

Hicks was still alive when JPSO deputies and Jonesboro Police officers arrived on the scene at approximately 11:40 p.m. He was transported to Jackson Parish Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

He is the son of Jonesboro-Hodge head football coach Terrance Blankenship, who confirmed to the Ruston Daily Leader Saturday morning that his son had been killed Friday night.

Some time later, at 1:35 a.m. Saturday, JPSO received a 911 call about another shooting that took place on Hwy. 167 between North Hodge and Quitman.

The driver of the vehicle, Dee Jackson, was struck by gunfire while driving down the highway. A female passenger was also struck by bullets and wounded.

Jackson died at the scene, according to a social media post made by the JPSO over the weekend. The passenger was transported by ambulance and then Pafford Air One to a local trauma center to be treated for a gunshot wound.

Atkins’ warrant was issued for the murder of Hicks, while the JPSO confirmed it has a person of interest in the murder of Jackson. Atkins’ whereabouts are unknown, and the sheriff’s office and Crimestoppers are asking for the public’s help in submitting any information that can help law enforcement bring Atkins into custody.
