STEM Camps continue at the Lincoln Parish STEM Center with students recently engaging in the Energy Camp. Throughout the week students learned about different types of energy — solar, hydroelectric, water, nuclear, electrical and fossil fuel — through engineering design experiences, collaborative research and challenges, and technology-rich opportunities.
As the culminating camp activity, each student completed a Green Screen Video Project that allowed them to share what they learned about energy and its impact on society. Volunteer Susan Hermes, a Union Parish gifted teacher and former Lincoln Parish educator, is seen working with 10-year-old Choudrant Elementary School student Brooklynn Bryan as she develops her video.
