Tech softball, soccer construction picks up pace

Workers are taking advantage of the recent good weather Ruston has experienced to step up progress on the new Louisiana Tech softball and soccer facilities that are being constructed behind Joe Aillet Stadium. The new facilities will replace the old ones destroyed by the F3 tornado that struck Ruston on April 25, 2019.

Pictured at top are workers atop the combined softball/soccer offices facility that will stand between the two stadiums. Pictured at bottom is the other side of the same building that will rest behind the outfield wall that will look out onto the Tech softball field. Tech plans for the softball field to be ready for play next spring and for the soccer field to be completed in time for the 2021 fall season.
