Tree pulls down power lines

A tree being cut by a private property owner on West Maryland Avenue fell across electric lines shortly before noon Thursday, leaving customers along part of the I-20 service road to near downtown without power. Though city utility crews were able to get some customers back on quickly, others had to wait a while longer. The downed lines also included some of the city’s fiber optic cable.
