Tribute to Russell Croxton

A hearse carrying the remains of fallen Dubach Police Officer Russell Croxton passes under a giant American flag hoisted over U.S. 167 Tuesday in Croxton’s honor. Small groups of residents gathered along the highway to watch the possession of law enforcement and emergency response vehicles from across North Louisiana and at least one from Arkansas escort the hearse to Dubach’s Hamilton Cemetery. Croxton died Saturday in the line of duty while making a traffic stop. The front door of Dubach Town Hall (inset photo) was marked with a blue ribbon in remembrance of Croxton. Croxton was the town’s police chief before joining the Louisiana Tech University Police Department in 2019. He was rehired by DPD in March of this year and had been back on the force less than two weeks before he was killed. Leader photos by Nancy Bergeron
