With heavy sadness we share the passing of Christopher Champion, a beloved son, uncle and friend.

He died peacefully on Wednesday May 11, 2022, in Shreveport. Christopher was born in Shreveport (Caddo Parish). He was the oldest child of Bernadine C. Whitmore (Otis Whitmore, Sr.) and Christopher Moore (Crystell Moore).

Christopher’s accomplishments and works include, Black Academy of Arts and Letter (Tribute to Martin Luther King). As a choreographer for Curtis King (founder) “God Rest My Weary Soul,” as a playwright and director for Dallas based New Friendship M. B . Church (Bubbin Brown Sugar).

As a choreographer for Grambling State University Speech and Drama department. Mr. Denzel Washington’s The Great Debate, as an assistant choreographer to Diane Grigsby, former soloist withe Alvin Ailey Dance Companyn and Founder/Artistic Director/Writer to the Croven Goad Theatre Performance Group (CGT) which he founded in May of 2010.

He began a professional career after graduating from the prestigious Arts Magnet High School in downtown Dallas, Texas, where he received numerous awards and accolades in dance. The list goes on and on.

If you ever met him you would remember him for your entire life, he treasured time with his family and friends.

The celebration of his life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday May 28, 2022, at Mt. Calm Baptist Church, 566 Mt. Calm Rd. in Arcadia. His final earthly resting place will be at Mt. Calm Cemetery. His remains will be held at the Paradise Funeral Home awaiting his services. Paradise Funeral Home is located at 3201 6th St. Arcadia, LA 71001.
