The Juneteenth Parade was held on Saturday morning at Grambling State University, through campus and downtown to Grambling Park. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day and Jubilee Day, commemorates the date when the last documented illegally detained slaves discovered their freedom on June 19, 1865, about two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
