Soto, Furr garner LSWA honors

Two of the most productive softball players in Cedar Creek history can close out their prep careers with one last honor.
Lillian Soto and Allie Furr, two of the Lady Cougars’ senior leaders, were selected to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A All-State softball team, while Lizzie McAdams and Peyton Muse were named all-state honorable mention.
Furr, a Louisiana Tech softball signee, earned her All-State distinction after hitting .485 with 27 RBIs, 3 home runs, and only 5 strikeouts in her senior season – being named All-State in her final two seasons at Creek.
In her junior season, Furr set the program record for batting average (.615) while launching 3 homers and totaling 29 RBIs.
Soto, the Lady Cougars’ regular three-hole hitter, led the team in RBIs (41) and home runs (12) while hitting .442 this season. Soto, a University of Louisiana-Lafayette softball signee, hit a combined 18 homers in her final two seasons for Creek.
McAdams and Muse rounded out the top half of the batting order for the Lady Cougars and earned All-State honorable mention thanks to their strong offensive seasons.
Muse, the Lady Cougars’ starting catcher, hit .350 with 38 RBIs and 2 homers while McAdams batted .292 with 29 RBIs and 8 home runs.
Cedar Creek finished the season 17-14 overall and made a postseason run to the Division IV Select quarterfinals.
