A visitation for Huey P. Warner will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston with a graveside service following at Greenwood Cemetery at 11 a.m. in Ruston, with Rev. Micky Cloud and Brother Craig James (nephew) officiating under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Ruston.

Huey was born April 18, 1940, in Choudrant, to the late George and Eula Warner. He graduated from Eros High School in Eros, Louisiana, and Barber College in Shreveport.

Huey began his career in 1961 as a barber in Ruston, and in 1976, Huey became owner of Huey’s Hairmasters where he clipped and styled hair, shared stories, discussed political issues, and told jokes until his retirement.

Ruston was home to Huey where he was an active member of the community and church. Huey had many hobbies, some of which included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Huey Warner is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Warner; his brother, William Warner; brother, Travis Warner; sister, Martha Sue Longino; sisterin- law, Martha Bump Norris; brother-in-law, Earl (Buddy) Bump; and nephew, Jeremy Tyler Bump.

He is survived by his best friend and wife Evelyn Victoria “Vicki” Warner; his beloved daughter, Mary Catherine Howe (Chris) of Naperville, Illinois; grandchildren, Christopher John Howe and Evelyn Claire Howe of Naperville, Illinois; sister- in- law Regina Henry Warner of Hico; sister, Francis Warner Lindsey of Winnfield; brother, Charlie Warner and wife Bobbe of Winnfield; sister, Betty Warner Sisom and husband Curtis of Winnfield; brother-inlaw, Milo Bump and wife Renata of Spring, Texas; brother-in-law, William ( Bill) Bump and wife Linda of Bernice; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends.

Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barron, Mrs. Sue Thompkins, and the wonderful neighbors of Woodstone Subdivision for the love and support during this last year. Also, we are grateful for Shaun Grant and Dianne Grant for their love and perfect care over the last few months.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
