The 2022 Pumpkins in the Park, held in downtown Ruston at Railroad Park last October, featured this happy jack-o’-lantern.
Area residents can begin celebrating the spooktacular month of October at the annual Pumpkins in the Park event set to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at Railroad Park in downtown Ruston.
“This is just a fun family day that brings people together in downtown Ruston,” Amy Stegall, Ruston’s Main Street director and community coordinator, said.
The highlight of the free event is an outdoor showing of the movie “ Hocus Pocus.” The family friendly film is about a teenage boy named Max and his little sister who move to Salem and awaken a trio of diabolical witches that were executed in the 17th century. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Pumpkins in the Park will also include food trucks and hundreds of pumpkins.
Participants can come in costume if they wish, Stegall said.
