Second annual Hootenanny continues through next week
The second annual Hootenanny, a week (or so) each spring that spotlights both the accomplishments of the College of Liberal Arts and the opportunities the college offers, continues today and through early next week at the campus of Louisiana Tech and around Ruston.
Today’s event features Shakespeare Festival from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the GTM Courtyard. Thursday’s event features the Louisiana Tech Opera Workshop, “One Night at Marlitos: An Evening of Jazz,” beginning at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center.
Don’t miss out on live music with Matthew Sclachetka Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the GTM Courtyard, while the AVFest Aviation Festival will take place from 4-7 p. m at Flight Operations.
Hootenanny and AVFest continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Davison Hall, while it resumes on Tuesday through Sunday of next week as well with the School of Theatre production of “Soul Samarai,” a play by Qui Nguyen at the Arthur Stone Theatre at 7 p.m. each night and at 2:30 p.m. on May 5.
On Wednesday, Stephanie Shonekan and Adam Seagrave, authors of “Race and the American Story,” will present an author talk at 10 .m. in Wyly Auditorium.
