Elizabeth Sachs Stone Piker

Elizabeth Blythe Sachs of Walhalla, S.C., mother of Brady Jonathan Stone, wife of Loyal L. Piker, Jr., sister of John R. Sachs, and daughter of Dr. H. J. and Mrs. Frances White Sachs, died September 8, 2024/ Elizabeth (Liz) was always the life of the party. Extraordinarily intelligent and talented, Liz will be best remembered for her piano skills. As a child prodigy, Liz began playing the piano at age 3 and continued until stricken by a stroke that took her life. She performed as both a soloist and accompanist and as a popular stage performer.

At Ruston High School, Liz was the choir and All State Chorus accompanist. Additionally, she was the Head Majorette and received the American Legion Award for being the best- rounded student in her Senior Class. She was generally acknowledged to be the best and most tireless ballroom dancer in the school.

At Louisiana Tech where she received a double major degree in English Education and Music, she graduated Cum Laude. She was a member of the Phi Mu sorority.

Liz is survived by her son Brady and wife Lisa and their three children, Kayla, Hannah, and Zachary and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her husband Loyal L. Piker, Jr. and stepsons Loyal III and Benji, Her final family survivor is her adoring brother John ( former wife Kathy) and niece Jennifer and nephew Anthony and their respective four children.

At a yet to be determined date in the near future, a gathering of friends and family will be held in Ruston to reminiscence of time spent and experiences shared with Liz.

The world was more pleasant for Liz’s presence.
