Inaugural Dixie Legends night to be held Sept. 26
The Civic Center in Ruston will play host to the Dixie Legends Fête Casino Night and Awards Ceremony on Sept. 26 from 6-10 p.m.
This night of celebration and fun will feature a variety of food stations set up throughout the Civic Center plus a cash bar.
“ It is our hope to make this inaugural event an annual extravaganza that you will most certainly want to be a part of,” said Marcie Nelson of the North Central Louisiana Arts Council.
One of the awards given out this year is the Linda Graham- Wells Award, established to recognize individuals and companies that significantly contributed to the preservation of the Dixie Center within the downtown community. The recipient of this award is T.L. James, LLC.
The Tommy Folk Award was instituted to commend volunteers for their dedicated time and service toward making the Dixie Center such an iconic part of the Ruston community. This year’s recipient of this award is Mary Ann Woods.
The Elizabeth Eng-lish Award was designed to acknowledge outstanding board service. That award will be announced later.
Individual Tickets are $60, which includes food, Dixie Wine Glass, and a $500 casino voucher.
Tickets can be purchased at dixiecenter.org. The North Central Louisiana Arts Council will host an auction at this event to help support its annual operations. Items for auction include various art pieces, home items, and more.
