State Police seek help indentifying pickup

On Monday, shortly before 9 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 20 just east of Hwy. 133. The crash claimed the life of 35-year-old Jared Osbon of West Monroe.

The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday, Osbon was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking in the left eastbound lane of Interstate 20. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The unknown vehicle fled the scene of the crash.

Troopers determined that Osbon was struck by a 2021 or newer Ford Super Duty ( F- 250 or F- 350). The Ford sustained damages to its left front headlight assembly and grill.

The use of any Louisiana interstate by pedestrians, bicycles, or other non- motorized vehicles is prohibited. For areas approved for pedestrian traffic, pedestrians are urged to maintain heightened awareness while walking near the road.
