GRAMBLING – Grambling State asserted its dominance over Arkansas Baptist University in an 82-56 victory at the Frederick C. Hobdy Assembly Center Tuesday Night.

The Tigers set the tone early, shooting 53.8% from the field in the first half and extended their efficiency to 58.1% in the second. This marked a sharp contrast to Arkansas Baptist, which struggled to convert shots, finishing at 32.8% for the game.

The Tigers’ offensive success was fueled by standout performances from multiple players. Antwan Burnett led all scorers with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including two three-pointers.

Chilaydrien Newton added 14 points with a perfect mark of 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. James Flippin contributed with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Grambling State controlled the boards with a commanding 43-23 rebounding advantage, including 36 defensive rebounds.

Kintavious Dozier was a force in this area, collecting 9 rebounds to complement his 6 points and 9 assists. Arkansas Baptist’s lone bright spot on the glass was Nataniel Braden, who grabbed 7 rebounds to go with his team-high 17 points.
