4 Paws Rescue frequently hosts special events where residents have the opportunity to adopt animals in need of a home.

“This is a great day for animals in Lincoln Parish,” Ruston businessman Bill Elmore said after more than 15 acres of land was signed over to 4 Paws Rescue.

The dream of an animal shelter to house abandoned animals in Lincoln Parish became much closer to a reality when 15.24 acres of land was officially purchased for $76,200 by 4 Paws and a couple of contributors on Friday.

Sue Martin, president of 4 Paws animal rescue group, said the group is excited to finally see their dream coming true.
