Deese, Pace marry

Marilyn Nicole Deese and Joshua Curtis Pace were united in marriage at 7 p.m. March 9 at the Sci-Port Planetarium in Shreveport. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Greg Taylor.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the solarium of Sci-Port Museum. Science themed floral arrangements and decor for the ceremony and reception were provided by Adcock and Associates of Benton.

The bride is the daughter of Drs. William and Evelyn Deese, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Archer, of El Dorado, Ark., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Deese, of Beebe, Ark.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Brenda Pace Fautheree, of Transylvania. He is the grandson of the late Hazel Nan Wall Pace.

Given in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her father, the bride wore a modern, short, corset back gown designed by Maggie Sottero. The tiered Vicenza Organza skirt was edged with Romance Satin, and the waist was accented with a black satin floral belt featuring feathers and Swarovski crystals. The bride also wore an elbow length veil, a strand of pearls given to her by her maternal grandparents and red heels.

The bride began her walk to the ceremony carrying a small wildflower bouquet and an embroidered handkerchief that belonged to her paternal great-grandmother. She gathered blossoms from family members as she came down the aisle, finishing with the final blooms from her mother who then helped tie the bouquet together with a sash of satin ribbon. Tulips, anemones, lisianthus and eryngium were mixed with assorted blossoms and grasses.
Codey Whitt, of Dallas, Texas, served the bride as her attendant of honor.
Tony Pace of Chicago, Ill., brother of the groom, served as best man, while Aaron Brock, of Smackover, Ark., and Matt Archer, of Harmony Grove, Ark., cousins of the bride, served as ushers.

Prior to the wedding ceremony, a rehearsal dinner bowling party was hosted on March 8 by the Deese family.
