PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Lincoln Parish Police Jury will accept sealed proposals for:
CUTTING AND REMOVAL OF PINE TREES AS MARKED AND DESIGNATED AT LINCOLN PARISH PARK
Notice is further given that this timber is offered for sale to the highest and best bidder or bidders submitting sealed proposal for the purchase of said timber. Each proposal must be submitted in a sealed envelope and clearly marked as “Parish Park Timber Proposal”. Bids will be received in the office of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury, Third Floor, Lincoln Parish Courthouse, Ruston, Louisiana, until 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 31 ,2013 at which time they will be opened and publicly read. Any proposals received after this time will be returned unopened.
The following special conditions shall prevail:
A. Only those pine trees marked and designated for cutting with blue paint are included in this lump bid sale.
B. All timber shall be removed during the time period from June 12, 2013 to August 15, 2013.
C. Bids to be made in one lump sum and full payment of bid amount will be due before any timber is harvested. Purchaser is responsible for all applicable permits, fees, and taxes.
D. Purchaser will be responsible for access to site through negotiations with adjacent landowners. Parish Park roads will not be used for site access or egress.
E. Purchaser shall be required to maintain Commercial General Liability (CGL) with a limit of not less than $1,000,000 each occurrence. Contractor will maintain Worker's Compensation Insurance as required by the State of Louisiana. Contractor agrees to name the Lincoln Parish Police Jury as an additional insured on all insurance and to provide certificates to that effect.
F. Purchaser and/or his contractors will be responsible for leaving roads and fences in same condition as prior to logging operations and to protect any unsold timber from unnecessary damage.
G. Purchaser agrees to conduct all logging operations in compliance with the recommendations of the Louisiana Forestry Association as per “Recommended Forestry Best Management Practices For Louisiana”.
H. Survey arrangements and additional information may be obtained by contacting Patterson Forestry Consultants, LLC at (318)-768-2603.
Special attention should be given to the fact that Lincoln Parish may reject any or all proposals, waive any technicality or error in proposal or any part therein, and to accept the same or combinations, in whole or in part, whenever such waiver or acceptance is deemed to be in the best interest of Lincoln Parish. The Police Jury reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals for just cause.
