Sixth grade teacher Holly Payton jumped out of the way as a small rocket made of paper whizzed past her face on a recent afternoon outside I.A. Lewis School.

The sixth grade science students were testing out their bottle rocket projects, improvised out of 2-liter soda bottles, tubing and a piece of copy paper.

Payton said this project was designed to give students a look at how their physical science lessons about force and motion apply to real life.
