Photo by ROBERT SUMMERLIN- Junior quarterback Michael Skipper will be among the Ruston High School players seeing action tonight in a spring-closing scrimmage at Shreveport Calvary Baptist High. The contest will wrap up 10 days of spring workouts for the Bearcats.

Ruston High School’s football players met their fans on Thursday.

Tonight, it’s a “dress rehearsal” of a different sort.

The Bearcats will go from a Thursday night inaugural “Open House/Supper” at the Jimmy “Chick” Childress Fieldhouse to a 6 p.m. spring-ending game against Calvary Baptist High in Shreveport.

For new Head Coach Brad Laird and his squad, it will mark the end of 10 days of spring drills that will serve as a tune-up for a 2013 regular season opener at Monroe Neville on Sept. 6.
