Question: Our daughter is nearly 30 and has moved back in with us again. She can’t seem to keep a job. We’re paying for her gas, her cell phone bill and even her car note. I feel trapped. We don’t want to be in this situation, but we’re not sure how to get out. What can we do to make our daughter financially responsible?

Answer: I am sure you don’t want to be in this situation, and I’d bet my bottom dollar you really love your daughter. But something else is true — you are in this situation by your own choosing. No one did this to you.
