While many of us will spend much of today cleaning up following Saturday’s storm that left widespread damage across the area, we can’t forget how lucky we are. No lives were lost as a result of the storm. Property can be replaced; people and other loved ones like family pets can’t.

The National Weather Service reported that much of the damage was caused by straight-line winds, although at least one tornado was officially confirmed.
When I woke up Saturday morning I knew we could be in for a stormy day.
