Students learn benefits, how to grow garden at school

There was so much excitement recently at the Cypress Springs school garden.

When work’s to be done, one doesn’t usually think of children getting so excited.

Cathy Judd, with the LSU AgCenter, said she had the privilege of watching students at Cypress Springs working together in their school garden, pulling weeds and planting.

“When Mrs. (Debbie) Barton’s class pulled weeds (on a recent) morning, I heard no one complaining,” Judd said.
