Committee to hold meeting today

The head of the Union-Lincoln Regional Water Supply Initiative says his group is willing to pay the $65,000 appraised price for property for a water treatment plant, if the Legislature OKs the sale.

“If we can buy it, the two towns and the police juries are willing to pay $65,000 to purchase the property,” ULRSWI President Stein Baughman said Tuesday.

“I just pray it will pass so we’ll have that opportunity,” ULRWSI member Ruston Mayor Dan Hollingsworth said.
