NT@R Job Shadowing KXKZ.jpg
Submitted photo- New Tech @ Ruston students Katie Upchurch (left) and Colby Jones (right) are pictured in the KXKZ studios with on-air personality Joel Sharpton (center), digital productions director and mid-day host for Big Z Country, during one of their recent job shadowing experiences. After his day of job shadowing, Colby was offered a job interview and is now working for KXKZ as a DJ.

New Tech @ Ruston juniors recently saw their education being applied as they engaged in real-world work experiences during the program’s second year of job shadowing. Each student spent a total of eight hours between two different businesses as part of the Ruston High School program criteria, something designed to help students make a solid connection between community and school while planning for their future.
