When I was growing up, the United States was a world “superpower.” As much as I hate to admit it, I don’t think anyone believes that anymore — not even U.S. citizens.

The decline in patriotism has had a pronounced effect on our morale and, like a wolf hot on a trail; other countries can sense our weakening confidence in our country and its leadership.
