Breast cancer, domestic violence and colon cancer. These topics may at first glance seem unrelated, yet they all deal with safety and health. There is a crying need for more safety. A first step is awareness.

Breast Cancer
On Wednesday, we begin Breast Cancer Awareness Month. When this observation first started in the mid-1980s there was not much awareness. Rather than go through a detailed history, clearly Breast Cancer Awareness Month now has a much higher degree of observation. There are many programs, associations and foundations to which contributions can be made.
