Nelson, Landry marry

Kristy Renea Nelson, of Dubach, and Sean Thomas Landry, of LaPlace, were joined in holy matrimony in a 5:30 p.m. ceremony Oct. 18 at the Popp Bandstand in New Orleans City Park. The ceremony was officiated by Ryan Ballard, of New Orleans.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Nelson, of Choudrant, and Tammy and Ted Johnston, of Dubach. She is the granddaughter of the late Doyle E. Rockett, Marie Rockett, of Spearsville, the late Roy E. Nelson Sr., and Rhoda Nelson, of Simsboro.

The groom is the son of Tom and Wanda Landry, of Destrehan. He is the grandson of the late Joseph and Lucille Chuter, the late Cecil Landry and Joyce Landry, of Hammond.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a white organza corset ball gown with beaded lace appliques, organza pickup skirt and a lace-up back with a delicately gathered chapel length organza train. The look was completed with a cathedral length veil with a silk-lined edge and scattered rhinestones. She carried a collection of purple, white and turquoise silk calla lilies and roses. Peacock and marabou feathers, rhinestones, pearls, Star Wars characters and a rhinestone “L” were added. The bouquet was a gift from the bridesmaids and designed by the groom’s sister Anne-Marie Millet.

Meredith Moncrief, of Bossier City, served as the maid of honor. Haylee Ray, of West Monroe, served as the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Wallace, of Keithville, and the groom’s sister Anne-Marie Millet, of Thibodaux.

The maid of honor wore a Regency purple halter-top floor-length dress with a silk, white calla lily bouquet with special flowers to match the bride.

Bridesmaids wore alternating Malibu turquoise and Regency purple strapless floor-length dresses with a rhinestone brooch at the waist.

All carried a silk, white calla lily bouquet with initial bouquet charms.

Jared Ronan, of Metairie, served as best man. Groomsmen were Brett Powers, of Kenner, Josh Millet, of Biloxi, and Bryan Tibbetts, of Metairie.

Brandon Brocato provided music. Brian Held appeared as Darth Vader and Keith Casella appeared as Bobba Fett at the reception.

Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Copelands of New Orleans hosted by the groom’s parents.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at Parkview Terrace in New Orleans City Park.
Prior to the ceremony, several celebrations were held in the bride and groom’s honor.
The Ropp Center at Louisiana Tech University was the location of an Aug. 2 bridal shower hosted by Tammy Johnston, Meredith Moncrief, Haylee Ray, Danielle Wallace and Anne-Marie Millet.

A bridal shower was held in the Destrehan home of Tom and Wanda Landry, hosted by Wanda Landry and Anne-Marie Millet.

A bachelorette party was held Sept. 12-14 in New Orleans. Hostesses were Bryanna Leger and LeAnne Bracey.

A bachelor party was held Sept. 4-7 in Houston, Texas, hosted by Brett Powers and Jared Ronan.

After a honeymoon to Sandals Grande Rivera Ocho Rios, Jamaica, as a gift from the father of the bride, the couple has made their home in Kenner.
