Tech remains atop Conference USA with two games remaining

Raheem Appleby (3) and Kenneth “Speedy” Smith scored 17 points each Thursday night to lead Louisiana Tech past Texas-El Paso 77-60 in Conference USA action at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Looking to lock down sole possession of first place in Conference USA with two games left in the regular season, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs showed they might have saved some of their best for last.

The Bulldogs were red hot in their Red Out game featuring all red uniforms as Tech stormed to a 77-60 win over Texas-El Paso in front of 5,160 rambunctious fans at the Thomas Assembly Center Thursday night.
