Erin Dale McCown, of Calhoun, and Wesley Grayson Simpson, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, joined in holy matrimony in a 4 p.m. ceremony March 28 at Aubrey Hall in Monroe. Rev. Werner Aswell officiated the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of David and Paula McCown, of Calhoun. She is the granddaughter of Reba Lillian McCown and the late Jack Lee McCown and Paul Thomas Hammond, Sr. and Peggy Dale Hammond.

The groom is the son of Arel and Nina Simpson, of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He is the grandson of Fern Simpson and the late Birtus Simpson and Tilman Ables and the late Dorothy Ables.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore an A-line gown of champagne silky taffeta with a delicately beaded, ivory Alencon lace overlay.

The v-neck gown was accentuated with crystals and eyelash trim and featured a chapel length train. She wore a fingertip length veil of ivory bridal illusion, edged with complimentary crystals. She carried a gorgeous brooch bouquet handcrafted by the bride and her mother.

Serving the bride as maid of honor was Brittney Cloud, of Chatham. Bridesmaids were Allie DeLeo, of Baton Rouge; Rachel McMillon, of West Monroe; and Kirby Bullock, of Shreveport.
The bride’s attendants wore floor-length, royal blue gowns with a mesh illusion neckline, cascading side ruffles and back ruching. They carried hand-tied bouquets of lime green hydrangeas, Fuji mums, Queen Anne’s lace, stock, freesia and baby’s breath.

Christopher Raner, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Dakota Martin, of Crowville; Stephen Turner, of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and Kristopher Hluska, of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Case Ford, of Conway, Arkansas, served as the ring security.

Ushers were Chase Stafford and Hunter Stafford, both of Calhoun.

Music was provided at the wedding by the String River Trio, which featured Joanne Ryan on guitar and Sandy Shugars and Nicholas Blake on violin.

A reception immediately followed, with food prepared by grandmother Peggy Dale Hammond, aunts Dianne Rosier and Debbie Conn and friends Jennifer Willis and Amanda Robertson. Music for the reception was provided by Dixieland DJ.

After a honeymoon to San Francisco, California, the couple will make their home in Monroe.
