That is the total number fatalities caused by Hurricane Katrina, the storm that ravaged the Gulf Coast region almost a decade ago.

Never should anyone wish for something so horrific to happen anywhere in the world.
Or at least one would think.

Chicago Tribune Columnist Kristen McQueary recently wrote a column on how she envied the region as the destination for the hurricane and found herself “wishing for a storm in Chicago.”
