Many Louisiana Tech University fans mark the annual homecoming game as one of the highly anticipated weeks of the football season.

The Bulldogs’ homecoming week draws fans from across the country every season to celebrate the annual Tech tradition.

This year’s homecoming events will surely bring plenty of fun for everyone.

Tech’s Alumni and Student Government associations and various student organizations announced several activities for this week’s festivities that the public can attend.

Starting the week off, the National Pan-Hellenic Council Unity Step Show will start at 7 p.m. today at the Memorial Gym.

Musician Ben Rector will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at Howard Auditorium. Tech’s Union Board invites the public to attend with general admission tickets costing $15 and reserved tickets costing $25.

The Alumni Awards Luncheon will begin at noon Friday in the Davison Athletics Complex. For alumni wishing to purchase tickets, they can contact Barbara Swart at 255-7950 or email her at barbara@latech.alumni.org.

In addition to the luncheon, a parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. on campus, followed by a pep rally and presentation of the homecoming court at Howard Auditorium.

Then, of course, the Bulldogs will host the University of North Texas for the homecoming game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Joe Aillet Stadium.

Before the game, fans will have the chance to eat breakfast with Champ at 9 a.m. in Tech’s Student Center. For tickets, fans can contact Swart.

In addition to the breakfast and the game, several organizations will hold open houses and tailgating prior for an opportunity for students to meet and greet with.

This week will hold plenty of events for the family to enjoy in Ruston.

The Ruston Daily Leader believes spending time with the family and celebrating one of our local universities’ biggest weeks will be a great way to create memories in the community.
