RPAR property tax up for renewal

When Ruston voters go to the polls Nov. 21, the fate of city’s park and recreation facilities and programs will be in their hands.

Voters will decide whether to renew an existing 2.92-mill property tax that provides about half of the funding for the park and recreation department.

“If this tax fails, the RPAR basically ceases to exist,” Department Director Wes Barton said.
