LPL hosts one-man rendition of ‘A Christmas Carol’

Leader photo by Heather Small Hawley Bill Oberst, the only actor in the one-man rendition of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” interacts with the crowd gathered for his show in the Lincoln Parish Library Event’s Center on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, the lights dimmed in the crowded room of the Lincoln Parish Library’s Event Center and one man rushed to the stage from the back of the performance hall.

His name is Bill Oberst, an actor and playwright, but in the play he has several names. He plays every character in his one-man adaption to Charles Dickens’ classic play “A Christmas Carol.”

After the initial cheers died down and the play began, children and adults watched as Oberst shifted from character to character without pause.
