Community gathers to build a ‘legacy’

Guests at the “It’s Our Legacy” event perused tables of silent auction items. Proceeds from the auction will be used to build a boundless playground in Ruston.

On Oct. 14, during the “It’s Our Legacy” event at Squire Creek Country Club, $68,888 was raised for the construction of a boundless playground in Ruston. Inspired by the needs of her son Bailey Jack, Jana Beck has put together several fundraisers to have the playground constructed at Lincoln Parish Park.

Special features of the boundless playground that will allow all children to play together are handicap ramps, handicap accessible play areas, supportive high-back swings and sensory stations to help with the development of special-needs children.
