Mallory Garza, a counseling psychology doctoral student at Tech, and Mercedes Gremillon, a doctoral student, hosted the event.

More than two dozen people attended the event meant to “offer heartfelt condolences to the families of the 49 victims who lost their lives during the Pulse tragedy in Orlando, Florida,” Garza said.

“As doctoral students within the field of counseling psychology, part of our interest is social justice advocacy,” Garza said. “When a tragedy such as the one that occurred in Orlando strikes our nation, it is our responsibility as future ethically practicing clinicians to ensure that those affected by such travesties know that they have a community who supports them.”
