Early voting turnout tops 20 percent ballots early


Some 5,714 Lincoln Parish voters cast ballots during the early voting period for the Nov. 8 election that ended Tuesday evening.

The turnout, though not a record, represents about 20 percent of the parish’s registered voters.
“That’s a pretty good percent for early voting,” parish Registrar of Voters Dianna Stone said this morning.

She attributed traditional media coverage and social media with the heightened voter interest in the election.

She said she also expects a large Election Day turnout.
