Bobby Dale Barrett
Funeral services for Bobby Dale Barrett, 83, of Chandler, AZ (formerly of Lillie, LA) will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Steve Barrett will officiate. Interment will follow at Barrett Cemetery near Bernice, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.
Bobby Dale Barrett was born on June 8, 1935, in Lillie, LA, to Aubrey and Florence Henderson Barrett. Bobby attended Spearsville High, graduating in 1954.
He was a member of the Class B State Championship in Baseball for Spearsville High School in 1952.
Bobby graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1957 having earned a BA in Accounting. Bobby was offered an accounting position with Mobil Oil, but was drafted into the US Army and stationed overseas in Germany for a brief time.
Upon his return to the mainland, he began his 32 year career with Mobil Oil as an accountantandsenior manager. During this time, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. During his career, Bobby, wife Ann Hollingsworth, and their three children, Bryan, Michael, and Melissa, lived in Midland, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, and Denver, CO.
Bobby retired from Mobil Oil in 1990.
In 1989, Bobby married Carollynne Suzanne Benne’ who had two children of her own, Jeffrey and Amanda. They later moved to Chandler, AZ.
Bobby was a devoted family man to two different families during his life. He loved to keep a diary of his activities. He was involved with church communities where he lived and was an active member until later in his life.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Carollynne Suzanne Benne’ Barrett; one sister, Judy Barrett; and two grandsons, Seth and Trent.
Survivors are his children: Bryan Barrett (Tracy Downey) of Parker, CO, Michael Barrett (Stefanie) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Melissa Bound (Doug) of Parker, CO; grandchildren: Kaley, Lauren, Mary, Jessica, and Calvin; great grandchildren: Kai, Madeline, and Harper; sister Kaye Jones; and step-children: Jeffrey Benne’ (Veronica) of Gilbert, AZ, Amanda Benne’ (Kevin Deman) of Poperinge, Belgium; and step-grandchildren: Josiah, Emmalynne, Tylor, Ethan, and Elliot.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
