Lincoln Parish voters face long primary ballot
The Oct. 12 primary ballot is going to be a long one in Lincoln Parish. Voters face as many as 24 races, including those for governor and a full slate of state officials. But not all of the races will be on the ballot in every precinct. As of the close of candidate qualifying Thursday, nine of the 12 Lincoln Parish Police Jury seats were contested. Races for sheriff, assessor and clerk of court are also on the ballot. Incumbent jurors Joe Henderson, who represents District 9, and Sharyon Mayfield, District 11, drew no opponents. Neither did Glenn Scriber, who will take incumbent Walter Pullen’s District 6 seat. Pullen is running for assessor.
