Dixie deal can shine for all

Now that the Dixie Center for the Arts is getting $100,000 from the city of Ruston, we expect the theater’s board of directors to begin moving quickly to make new things happen.
The money is coming to the historic theater by way of a cooperative endeavor agreement approved this week by Ruston’s Board of Aldermen.

Terms of the agreement call for the city to pay the Dixie’s utilities, estimated at approximately $25,000 a year, with the remainder of the funds applied to operations and programming.
