Ruston man charged with seven counts of attempted murder

A Ruston man remains in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center today charged with seven counts of attempted second-degree murder after sheriff’s deputies say he intentionally drove his vehicle into a crowd of people.

Jason Rockett, 47, of 174 Twin Oaks Lane, was arrested at his home Sunday morning after apparently hiding his Toyota Tundra behind a residence in Eros the night before, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Criminal Deputy Stephen Williams said.

Deputies recovered the vehicle on Sunday.
