Life is good, as the saying goes. It is true. I saw it March 13 right here in Ruston. More than 500 local citizens filled the Ruston Civic Center to hear speaker Melissa Ohden defend the goodness and value of life at the annual banquet supporting Life Choices of North Central Louisiana.

Melissa Ohden was a victim of a saline infusion abortion in the late 70’s, the method most commonly used 40 years ago. A “dreaded complication,” a live birth, occurred that day, she said. The doctor demanded that she be left to die, but she was rescued by a nurse and taken to the PICU.
